Cell Phone has become so common that you find every next person having a cell phone. If we look some years back cell phone is rarely in use and having a cell phone is a mark of elitism. Cell phone history goes back to 1940’s onwards when radio technology was developed and radios were used between two persons to communicate with a central base. Modern cell phones technology developed from the development of hexagonal cells and tri-dimensional signal receiving techniques. Now every now and then there’s an ever new technology introduced in this industry. Generally we can divide the history of cell phone in following three categories:

A. First Generation Cell Phone Sets. Previously one cannot take cell phones out of one specific area range, this problem was solved by the introduction of first ever cellular phone of portable nature in 1983. These cell phones work on analogue technology. During the end of 1980’s more innovations took place like introduction of “car phones” etc.

B. Second Generation Cell Phone Sets. In early 1990’s the cell phones using systems like GSM, CDMA, TDMA etc are classified as second generation cell phones. These phones were better in both their size and technology.

C. Third Generation Cell Phone Sets. Third Generation cell phones uses even advanced technologies like technologies we are using now a days as SMS, internet access etc. For 3rd Generation cell phones two important requirements are that for outdoor use they must have 84 kbits and indoors data rate of 2 Megabits.

Everyone has a cell phone these days, and in case you need to find someone’s cell phone number, you can lookup cell phone numbers online using a cell phone directory.
